Book
'A social scientific approach to Acquired Brain Injury and identity'
The book has been recently (2017) published by Routledge publishers. One review states:
'Dr. Harvey’s book provides a compelling investigation of identity (re)construction post brain injury and the pivotal role played by rehabilitation. Positioned as both a brain injury survivor and former physiotherapy student, Harvey critically interrogates the experiences of six young men post brain injury to offer fresh insights into how disability and difference are understood and addressed in healthcare. This highly readable text should be required reading for any rehabilitation professional.' Barbara E. Gibson, author of Rehabilitation: A Post-critical Approach, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Therapy, University of Toronto

Article
'Theorising everyday life after acquired brain injury'
I have recently written a peer-reviewed article that explores everyday life after brain injury and the role that approaches to rehabilitation can have on this. I investigate the way critical social theory can help make sense of the experiences of brain injury survivors.

Systematic review research
In September 2015 I joined the faculty of health sciences at the University of Southampton as a Research Fellow for 1 year. I was involved in a NIHR CLAHRC Wessex funded project exploring complexity and end-of-life care. We conducted a systematic review of qualitative evidence of patient and carer experiences of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic heart failure and chronic kidney disease. This page will be updated as these are published. These papers included a meta-review of review papers and also reviews of primary studies.
Experiences of long-term life limiting conditions among patients and carers...
Research methodology
I have expertise in qualitative research and have included a link to a peer reviewed journal article on the interaction between researchers and research participants.
